The ingredients needed to prepare Steamed bread/Idombolo:

  1. Prepare 6 cups of flour.
  2. Prepare 1 packet of yeast.
  3. Provide 4 Tablespoons of sugar.
  4. Take 1 teaspoon of salt.

  6. Prepare 600-800 ml of lukewarm water.

  5. Fill the cups halfway through with the dough and the same goes with the enamel dishes..
  6. Fill a large pot with boiling water(enough to cover the mugs halfway through). Insert ur mugs into the pot of boiling water and boil for at least 40min before checking if the dumpling is cooked through. Insert a skewer into the dumplings, if it comes out clean then the dumplings are ready..
  7. NB: Ensure that the water does not run out after 40 min(u can add more hot water to the pot).

For small, thin dumplings, roll the dough and cut it into squares. To make fluffy dumplings that are. Can be served with stews or on it's own with a cup of tea ofcourse🙈 Nonkonzo Makhoba.
